The Bodega Bay Audio Tour
The highlights on this drive include:
"The Birds" movie locations, complete tour of Bodega Bay, the gorgeous Sonoma coast, fun movie locations, the best picture spots, a "secret" back road plus, where to eat, shop & more!
NOTE: 7/11/2024
We are currently working on updating "The Bodega Bay Tour" and in the meantime, will be offering the 2018 recording at $1.99 until the 2024 version is released later this year. Please note that some of the places mentioned on the audio tour are out of business.
This tour starts with a visit to Alfred Hitchcock's famous schoolhouse used in his thriller, The Birds. You'll learn fascinating facts about this historic building and take time out for some fun photo opportunities. Oh yes - but beware of ghosts - this town has been registered as an authentic classic haunt!
Then it's time for a "secret" treat - you'll be directed onto one of the most beautiful back roads in all of Western Sonoma County! (It's a secret because most tourists and some locals are unaware this road even exists). Enjoy incredible photogenic views of the valley and catch a unique, spectacular glimpse of Bodega Bay.
Next you'll experience some of the most breathtaking views of the Sonoma Coast as we visit "Seal Rock" and take a hike on a choice of two trails high above the water and marvel at the view! Learn about Bodega Bay's mysterious "Hole in the Head", enjoy a scenic drive along the Sonoma coastline with several "Postcard-worthy" photo locations. You'll also get the chance to experience a natural tide pool & enjoy a walk along the prairie grass with views of the ocean.
Then it's time to journey to visit the spectacular location used for the finale of the film "The Goonies," and learn where to look for hidden sea glass in the sand. Your tour continues as we travel over the Russian river and visit the charming town of Jenner.
NOTE: This is a soft adventure lasting between 4-8 hours depending on your pace and how long you stay at each location. A popular option is to split the adventure up between two days. You'll need to bring water, a camera, sunglassses, a light windbreaker jacket and good walking shoes. This tour is suitable for most adults and children aged 7 and older. Pets are restricted at most of the locations on this tour - especially the beaches - due to unsafe surf conditions.
Accessibility: Our tours require walking and hiking and are not suitable for wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Some of the sites along the way can be viewed from a vehicle window, but most are reached by walking.
